SouthEastern D-STAR Weather Net, Sunday at 21:00 EDT

Sunday evenings at 21:00 eastern on Reflector 002A (REF002A).
The Backup reflector is 004A (REF004A)

The KA4RES repeater (port-C) is always connected to this net, unless a local Directed Net is in progress (usually for a local or area-wide emergency).

Feel free to link to the reflector if you do not hear traffic during the Net time.
The link command is “REF002AL” in the URCALL field.
You should hear a response from the repeater signifying that “Link Established”
then switch your radio back to “CQCQCQ” in the URCALL field before transmitting again.

To UNLINK, use a command with only the character “U” in the 8th character of the URCALL field.

Daytona D-Star Repeater Installation Schedule

Well, time has come and we’re excited to announce that we’re scheduling the Daytona Beach D-Star Repeater installation for 06-June (Sunday) afternoon, starting at about 13:00.

Frequency will be on 145.380 (-600khz) with a Call-Sign of KJ4RYH. This will only be a 2-meter stack, so your RPT configurations should be: RPT1=”KJ4RYH C” and RPT2=”KJ4RYH G” (single space after the call sign. We plan to also install the Gateway for this repeater, so it will be immediately linkable to other repeaters and reflectors (KA4RES or REF030B, as examples).

Listen on Sunday afternoon for the inauguration of this new D-Star repeater.

The repeater is graciously being hosted by the Daytona Beach ARA – a relationship which is growing on a number of levels to include not only repeaters, but training and joint exercises.

Florida Hurricane Net – Monday Nights at 21:00 EDT

A reminder to all – the Florida Hurricane Net meets on D-Star Reflector 004C (REF004C) each Monday night at 21:00 local. The KA4RES repeater, as well as over 7 other repeaters in Florida, along with numerous DV-Dongles and DVAP’s join on the Net each week.

The purpose of the Net is to promote readiness in case of approaching hurricanes anywhere in the state of Florida. Thus far, we have only had participation from the eastern part of Florida – but we hope to have repeaters from western Florida join in this week’s Net.

Please plan to join us, as we expect this Hurricane Season to be very active – we need all the resources and assets that we can muster in case of a major event.
