On 11-May-2010, a new Icom IC-7200 HF Radio, along with an SGC MAC-200 AutoTuner and Samlex 1235 power supply were installed at the EOC today. All electronic components were installed by Phil (K5BBC), and Steve (KB4DNQ) with supervision by Frank Sanita (AA4FS) and Bob Pickering (KB4RSY) from Flagler Emergency Services.

Although there was no problem with the Electronics package, the guys found significant problems with the Hustler antenna mounted outside on the chain-link fence post. VSWR was high on all bands and it was found that the antenna is virtually unusable in its present configuration. Other antenna arrangements will need to be undertaken before the HF station is usable (maybe a NVIS 40/80m dipole..??!).
