This blog contains timely information regarding the construction and operation of the North-East Florida D-STAR Project which provides mobile D-Star coverage from Port Orange to north of Jacksonville in north-east Florida. Coverage is targeted along the I-95 corridor, the major North-South evacuation route on the east coast of Florida.
The mission of this system is to provide D-Star capabilities for ARES organizations throughout the coverage area. It is anticipated that coverage will extend to all of Duval, Clay, Nassau, Putnum, St. Johns, Flagler and Volusia Counties with at least mobile coverage. Some areas will also have excellent hand-held coverage in high-density areas.
This system is privately funded, but draws from a large pool of experience, talent and hard-work from contributors across Duval, St. Johns, Flagler and Volusia Counties. The number of contributors is too large to enumerate, but suffice to say that this project could not be done without each and every one of them. To each of them, I give my heart-felt gratitude.
We hope that this system provides you with the information that you need. Send comments and suggestions to WB6RTH@ARRL.NET.
